Biomaterials Seminar (29-30 July 2025)
On July 29-30, 2025, at Building 4 (10th floor), Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, we hosted the Biomaterials Seminar featuring Asst. Prof. Pasquale Gallo of the Department of Industrial Engineering, University of Trento, Italy, and affiliated with the SHIFT Project. He delivered a two-day seminar on Fracture Nanomechanics: Day 1 covered basic concepts and numerical tools; Day 2 focused on experimental techniques, synthesis, and illustrative examples. The event concluded with a constructive Q&A and a lively exchange of ideas.
2025 Lab Party (21 July 2025)
We hosted our 2025 lab party to welcome our interns, new members, and to congratulate our graduating members. Everyone joined in fun activities such as games and a raffle with prizes donated by our professors, engaged in lively cross-cultural conversations, and enjoyed Thai food and desserts together.
2025 Intern Presentations (21 July 2025)
Summer interns from France and Taiwan, along with our lab team, offered introductions and shared research updates at Ture Lab in Engineering Building 3. The presentations were interesting and stimulated open discussion.
2024 Lab party (18 July 2024)
A warm welcome party for our intern students and new members, featuring exquisite Thai cuisine, delicious desserts, and a variety of fresh fruits, was hosted. The event also included engaging leisure activities that everyone enjoyed. We concluded the celebration by congratulating our new graduates and bidding a heartfelt farewell to Zargul, the research assistant.
2024 Intern Presentations (18 July 2024)
The intern students from France and Taiwan who joined our lab during this summer introduced themselves and shared their research progress at Ture Lab, Engineering Building 3. Their presentations were fascinating and sparked engaging discussions.

We showcased our laboratory experiments and instruments to students in the Biodegradable Material Engineering course.
Center of Excellence 3rd Seminar (21 December 2023)
BEMH organized its 3rd seminar at the Lecture Hall, Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. The keynote speaker, Assistant Professor Dr. Weiping Wang from the Dr. Li Dak-Sum Research Centre and the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy at The University of Hong Kong, gave an interesting talk on "Photoresponsive Drug Delivery Systems for the Treatment of Cancer and Eye Diseases." Additionally, the event featured an engaging Q&A session where participants exchanged valuable perspectives.
Center of Excellence 2nd Seminar (5 September 2023)
BEMH organized its 2nd seminar at the Lecture Hall, Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University. Three honorable speakers were invited to share their works, including Dr. Charasphat Preuksarattanawut from Metallurgical Engineering, on the topic of "Innovative Uses of Nano-Calcium Carbonate to Create Unique Value and Expand Market Opportunities of Commercial Products", Dr. Sarita Morakul from Mechanical Engineering on "Hydroxyapatite/Amino Acid Coating Enhancement for Antibacterial Properties" and Dr. Atchara Khamkongkaeo from Metallurgical Engineering on "Unveiling the Past and Present: Exploring Research Background and Current Endeavors." The seminar concluded with fruitful discussion and the exchange of ideas.

Annual merit-making (27 July 2023)
BEMH members offered food to the Buddhist monks at Wat Pathum Wanaram, Bangkok. It is one of merit-making in Buddhism. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious lunch together at Ohkajhu Organics Restaurant.
Center of Excellence 1st Seminar (February 2023)
The BEMH celebrated its promotion from a research unit (RU) to a centre of excellence (CE) with its 1st CE seminar on the theme of "Biomaterials for Regenerative Medicine and Drug Delivery Systems". Prof. Antonella Motta, our SHIFT H2020 project leader from the University of Trento, Italy, kicked off the meeting with her perspectives on "Shaping Innovative Products for Sustainable Tissue Engineering Strategies". Also, Dr Annalisa Tirella from Trento gave her talk on "Alginate-derived Hydrogels to Model ECM Mechanics in vitro. Lastly, Asst. Prof. Jittima Luckanagul from our CE talked us through "Biological Self-assembly and Surface Modification by Bioorthogonal Click Chemistry for Macromolecular Delivery". The seminar was followed by collaborative discussion and, of course, Thai food.

We hosted a welcoming party for Prof. Kundu and Dr. Ilaria. We had a lot of fun cooking together.
